Venture Academy All Girls STEM grades 3-5 camp, July 2020, day 2
For my egg drop experiment for day 2 of the Venture girls STEM camp, I made three different baskets.
Basket 1: A pop bottle
Figure 2: A pop bottle with a large bag as parachute.
Figure 3: Using a smaller part of a bag as parachute.
- My pop bottle basket did not work well.
- The hard boiled egg cracked both times.
- I tried two different parachutes.
Basket 2: An egg carton
Figure 4: An egg carton with the smaller parachute; the egg survived!
Figure 5: The second time the egg cracked.
- My egg carton basket with a parachute worked okay.
- The hard-boiled cracked on the second drop.
- The best part of the design was the egg was snug.

Basket 3: A tupperware container
Figure 6: The uncooked egg inside this container did not crack! :)
- My tupperware basket worked well.
- It did not have a parachute.
- Instead I filled it with shredded paper and cotton balls.
- The egg was uncooked.
- The egg didn't break!
- The best part of the design was it was soft.
